Not ready to contact me yet?

My free Primary School Dyslexia Checklist can help you identify some of the signs associated with dyslexia and think about your child's individual pattern of strengths and difficulties.

You may be considering an assessment because your child:

✓ struggles with reading or spelling despite support
✓ is making slower progress than expected
✓ works hard but isn't achieving what they're capable of
✓ finds instructions or sequences difficult to remember
✓ avoids reading or writing, or is losing confidence
✓ has received support but you still don't understand why they're struggling.

You don't need to know whether your child has dyslexia before contacting me. That's what I'm here to help you explore.

Are you worried about your child's progress?

I gather information from you, your child and school so that I understand their learning history and current concerns.

Before the Assessment

How does the assessment process work?

During the Assessment

Your child completes a range of carefully selected activities looking at areas including reading, spelling, phonological processing, memory and other aspects of their learning profile. Breaks are provided as needed.

Once the assessment is complete, I bring together the background information and assessment results to build a clear picture of your child's individual strengths and difficulties.

You will receive a full diagnostic report, usually within two to three weeks, with clear recommendations for home and school.

I will then arrange a feedback meeting to talk you through the findings and answer any questions. With your consent, I can also discuss the report with your child's school.
